Bandh scenario in neighbourhood

The bandh called on April 23 for by the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu to protest the killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka where a war is on now, affected public activity and life in Chennai and thus in this neighbourhood.
Shops in all the main areas of K K Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Vadapalani and Virugambakkam were shut down. MTC buses did not ply from the Vadapalani depot. There was little traffic on the road.
The photos here show the scenes in the Ashok Nagar and K K Nagar area. They were taken in the evening of April 23.

It is no wonder 100 % successful. The gates of MTC depots were locked up preventing the bus crews from operating. I am resident of Alwarthirunagar and by 10 am few unruly elements came and forcd\ed the shops to closed down and after all the petty shop keepers had to take care of their belongings from distruction so they oblged.
The question is this sudden call for bandh had it stopped the war at Srilanka. It is going and will go on as it has happened for the past 2 decades.
