Valasarawakkam is in Sriperumbudur constituency
Valasarawakkam area falls under the Sriperumbudur Lok Sabha constituency.
Here, there seems to be a tough contest between DMK’s T. R. Baalu and A K Moorthy of PMK. Both have been Union Ministers and both wield huge influence in their respective parties and outside.
Baalu was previously the MP representing Chennai South but chose to contest from Sriperumbudur Lok Sabha constituency.
Though the campaign has been low profile as in most other places, both candidates are covering the nooks of the area. Baalu because he is new to many areas here and Murthy, to make a strong impression.
A. K. Moorthy seems more well known among the people here since this an area with lots of Vanniyars.
