Hair-oil from Alwar Thirunagar entrepreneur
In a large bungalow on Agathiyar Street, off the busy Gandhi Road in Alwarthiru Nagar colony in Valasarwakkam N. Murali and his team are driving the campaign for a new product whose success could spell bigger business ventures.
Murali’s Harshvin Exports launched Harshini Hair Oil reently, stocking the uniquely shaped bottle of a soft green shade at all the stores in this part of the city.
Over the next few weeks, the bottles will occupy more store shelves and compete for the attention of shoppers.
Murali says this is perhaps the first fresh herbal hair oil in the retail market.
It is special because the a set of herbs are boiled in pure coconut oil and the extract is bottled for sale.
Murali thinks he has a good product in his hand. “I have been sampling this oil with hundreds of families in this area and the feedback is positive,” he says.
“If women give their thumbs up and coax others to buy it this product is made!”, he says.
On the top floor of his office here, his team has been researching the product for over a year to arrive at the results they wanted.
“Getting fresh herbs is not easy and that is why the oil costs a bit,” says Murali.
But with the promise of better hair growth, lush hair and arrest of hairfall Murali thinks that Harshini will do well.
For now, his team will wait and watch even as they plan the setting up of a bigger manufacturing place elsewhere.
Murali, an engineer has been setting up plants for major companies in the personal products and lifestyle accessories business for many years.
So he has some intimate knowledge of how consumers shop for soaps, shampoos, oils and such things.
Now, he has put his hands in the herbal hair oil business.
