Join hands on Feb.9 for ‘Save Canal’ campaign

Members of the Affiliated Resident Welfare Associations, Virugambakkam, Saligramam, Vadapalani and residents are being invited to take part in what is called
the human chain campaign to “SAVE THE VIRUGAMBAKKAM CANAL” from garbage and sewage.
This has been choking the canal and has not dropped down as it should and hence the drive. Many people and commercial establishments are the culprits.
Ma Subramaniam, Mayor – Corporation of Chennai will participate in the Human Chain by joining hands with school children and residents at 9 am on Tuesday, 9th February, 2010 at Chinmaya Nagar . (Chitirai Street – Nerkundram Road Junction) followed by another Human Chain at 9.45 am on the same day at Muthamizh Nagar Bridge, Saligramam.
He will also launch the “CANAL WARRIORS INITIATIVE” in Virugambakkam and Saligramam people.
