Speciality food store in Virugambakkam

Brown Tree is a speciality dry food store which opened in Virugambakkam recently, after it opened one in Ashok Nagar few months ago. M. Dinesh Kumar, its CEO was with the Nuts n Spices chain store for ten years, and chose to venture out on his own.
This is the sort of store for people who are health-conscious and those who want high quality foodstuff. It has lots of imported, local and value-added foodstuff. The store’s speciality is a wide range of dry fruits, spices, fruit juices, and syrups.
The store stocks select health foods, ready to cook spice mixes, honey, soups, a wide range of sugar free products, tea, diet snacks and low sodium items.
It offers its own range of masalas – garam masala, North Indian masalas, sambar, rasam, chilly powder, Kashmiri chilli and powder, bread spreads, extracts like Marmite brands . . .
You can also shop for organic imported foods – pastha, soya milk, porridge, maple syrup, mayonaisse, grain cereals and more. Non alcoholic wines are other specials that you don’t get anywhere around, says Dinesh. There is a rack of fresh fruits, ice creams, chocolates and the likes.
