Spots to buy Vinayaka idols

Vinayaka Chathurthi is on September 3. And if you are new to this area, you may want to know where you can buy colourful Ganesha idols made of clay in this neighbourhood for your pooja . . so here are some leads.

The idols, thoranam and colourful kodai, arugampul and Erukku flowers are characteristic of this fest. Ponnambalam Salai in K K Nagar, near Amman Koil junction is abuzz with all festive goodies. So is the Virugambakkam market on Kaliamman Koil Street, off Arcot Road. 

And the Vadapalani Market near Sri Murugan Temple is another good spot to shop around. The price of the pillayar idols range from Rs.15 upwards. 

MGR Nagar market, off Anna Main Road, the Alwarthirunagar market on Arcot Road, and spots near Nagathamman Koil in Dasarathapurma are other destinations. Similarly, Sri Anjaneyar Temple, 6th Avenue Ashok Nagar is another nook.
