Treat yourself to MS songs played from vintage records

It is going to be a aural treat for the connoisseurs of music at Endrendrum MS this month. Recordings from 78 rpm discs of MS will played on July 19 evening ( 6 pm onwards). This event is hosted by Vasantha Memorial Cancer Centre in Ashok Nagar.

About 18 songs will be played in 3 sections. The first section will feature songs recorded by MS from 1926 – 1936.

The less heard melodies will include her first recorded song, Maragatha vadivu. The second section, the immortal melodies will feature songs that bear the indelible MS stamp.

And the third section are haunting melodies of MS that include Vande mataram ( a duet with Dilip kumar Roy ), Engum nirandaye ( from ‘Meera’ ) and more.

The event will be presided by V. A. K.Ranga Rao – dancer, film critic and enthusiast and a connoisseur of the fine arts – who is also the proud owner of the largest collection of 78 r.p.m. records in the country
