NGO plans light music show to raise funds

Citizens Guardians, an Ashok Nagar based public charitable Trust and an organisation for social causes, will hold a musical evening by ‘Super Singers Junior’ to raise funds for its social projects.

The organisation which was founded by V. Ravichandran has had some landmark successes to its credit in the legal battles it pursued during the past three years,.

It had won the case to restore the encroached space in Ashok Nagar to the Corporation, which is now the Ist Avenue Park.

Ravichandran was also instrumental in restoring the children’s play area on Ashok Nagar’s 65th Street, which was encroached.

The recent victory for the organisation has been restoring the two-way traffic on the vital roads near Ashok Pillar, that were earlier converted to one-way by the City Traffic Police.

Citizens Guardians has also challenged a private company which is said to have fabricated the documents to build a massive residential complex encroaching on the K K Nagar Peripheral Hospital land. The case is still pending in the Supreme Court.

Presently a PIL is in the court dealing with the implementation of Chennai City Rivers Conservation Project (CCRCP), in which Rs.1200 crores is said to have been spent.

(It is for the fourth time that massive digging can be seen on Anna Main Road – MGR Nagar market junction which seems to reflect the quality of the project work)

The light music programme will feature singers like Krishnamurthy, Vignesh, Sai Sharan and more.

The event is on on September 28,  6.30 pm, at Kamarajar Arangam, Anna Salai, Teynampet.  The tickets are priced at Rs. 500, 200, 100.

Citizens’ Guardians can be reached for tickets / donations, at 9941376330. E mail:
