Multi-speciality physiotherapy clinic opens in Alwarthirunagar: handles special needs

Drona has launched its first specialty centre for Physiotherapy, Children with Special Needs and Rehab Gym. It is on Gandhi Road in Alwarthirunagar.

Drona Institute for Therapeutic Solutions is an initiative by G S Kumar, Sukumar and Jagan Mohan who have more than 25 years of experience in the medical equipment industry.

Here, physiotherapy would be provided for conditions in orthopaedic, cardiothoracic, geriatric, neurology, pediatric and sports medicine.

For children with special needs, individualised therapy and training programs would be devised to meet the unique needs of each child, says Jagan Mohan.

The team here includes qualified Special Educators experienced in handling children with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, ADHD, Autism and developmental delays.

The Rehab Gym focuses on adults who require cardiac rehabilitation, balance and co-ordination training, resistance training and fall prevention care.

This specialty centre was inaugurated on Dec. 9 by Dr V V Varadarajan, senior pediatric consultant and Dr J Bhaskaran senior neurology and dermatology consultant.

Physical therapist Venkatesh, Professor, faculty of Physiotherapy at Sri Ramachandra University leads the team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, special educators and speech therapists at Drona.
