Namma Arcot Road event on Feb.26: Talk by Gnani

The Namma Arcot Road (NAR) community is nearly half year old. It is an initiative by a group of volunteers focussed on making this Arcot Road neighbourhood a happening place.

NAR’s events are devised such that, the people of the place enjoy and spend quality time. The list of events includes a variety of presentations like heritage talks by eminent personalities, heritage walks, theatre arts, events for children and young people, to suit all ages.

For February, the group has planned a ‘Talk’ event. Gnani, a renowned journalist and theatre person, who has contributed a lot of socially conscious themes to the film and TV productions, will speak on “Why are we like this!” – an interactive¬† session on non political, social issues.

Gnani is famous for his impressive writings in Tamil magazines. He is senior journalist in the Tamizh media and a columnist who is well-known for his unrelenting views.

He is the Editor of Theemtharikida, a popular Tamizh Literary Magazine. He is also well-known in the theatre circles and has his own theatre group Pariksha for the last 25 years

His “O Pakkagal” in Kumudham (earlier in Anandha Vikatan) is a master piece and was a favourite read of thousands.

The Talk event is open to all. It will be held at MGR Janaki Mat Hr Sec School, Arcot Road, Virugambakkam (opp Avichi School). Date: February 26, Saturday at 10 am. Snacks and coffee will be served to all who are on time.
