Light music concert on Sunday in Valasarawakkam

Reserve Sunday evening, June 26 for a nice concert of light and film music by the popular Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra at a venue in Valasarawakkam.

This special concert is being hosted by a low profile group called Tapovanam which was started by Leelavathy to promote chamber Carnatic music in this area.

It is celebrating 10 years of music now.

The group wanted more people to know what it did and also enlist more members for its concerts and it found an ally in the Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra based in Ashok Nagar whose founders always support even small projects ( it ran an event for the Namma Arcot Road community some months ago).

G. Venkataraman who loves Carnatic music and is a keen Tapovanam member says the group is small ( about 40 members) but it has, for 10 years now held a concert every 4th Sunday evening and hosted some major artistes too.

Devi Academy school here gives its space for the events and the June 26 show will be in this campus.

Tickets are available at the venue too.

Start at Rs.100.
