Writes N. Subramaniam, a neighbour in this tribute to the late actor:

I am a resident of Kumaran Nagar for over three decades.  This humble and simple gentleman, in spite of his familiarity both on TV and in cinema, used to go through our street daily for his morning walk.

On 23rd.September, I was invited  by the Koyambedu branch of Syndicate Bank to be the chief guest at its Customer Meet. It was here that I noticed the presence of Narasimhan  as a customer and immediately, with bank manager’s permission, compelled him to sit by my side at the table.

I also took this opportunity to honour him with a shawl and conversed with him. I recall this memorable occasion now and I feel so sad of his sudden demise.”
